Accrediting Africa's Future, Empowering Global Trade
Strengthening Africa's business ecosystem through independent accreditation, certification, and capacity building since 1996.
Founded in 1996 in Nairobi, Kenya, the Continental Business Integrity Standards Council (CBISC) was established by a coalition of African economists, trade officials, and private-sector pioneers. At a time when African markets were liberalizing, local businesses needed a trusted institution to certify their credibility.
CBISC was created to set standards, certify compliance, and link enterprises with international opportunities. From the start, it positioned itself as a bridge between African entrepreneurs and global investors.
We are dedicated to raising the quality and competitiveness of African businesses through independent accreditation, certification, and capacity building. We emphasize sustainability, transparency, and ethical conduct to ensure enterprises meet global benchmarks.
