Our Story
Founded in 1996 in Nairobi, Kenya, the Continental Business Integrity Standards Council (CBISC) was established by a coalition of African economists, trade officials, and private-sector pioneers. At a time when African markets were liberalizing, local businesses needed a trusted institution to certify their credibility.
CBISC was created to set standards, certify compliance, and link enterprises with international opportunities. From the start, it positioned itself as a bridge between African entrepreneurs and global investors.
